Guest Recipe: Maple Dijon Dress

So Planted Families is one of my most favorite feeds on Instagram and even better, Catrina is all the things. She's local, she's badass, she's make delicious beautiful food! There are so many options for the whole family that are full of nutrients and straightforward to make.

While this might be 'only a dressing', let's not forget a couple of things. Most store bough dressings are ladedn with chemical foods stuffs that barely equate to being food, maple is the ultimate plant medicine loaded with good for the healing body nutrients. While we don't do salads with this approach to eating during the immediate postpartum (almost no raw food), we can drizzle this on our porridges, oats, soups, grain boals for an added burst of flavor and nourishment.

From Catrina over at Planted Families:

Do you make your own salad dressing? It is so easy and once you start, you won't go back to the store bought dressings! Usually I like dressing salads with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt. But sometimes I want something a little heavier, and this maple dijon dressing is sweet, tangy and the whole family loves it!

Okay here is the recipe:

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Zest of one small lemon

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt to taste! I added about 1/2 teaspoon pink salt✨

Whisk it all together and serve! If its too thick for your liking, add a splash of water.
